How the recommendation mix differs across tenure types. Filter by tenure to compare owner-occupied, social rented, and private rented properties.
Owner-occupied properties average 3.6 recommendations each — 38% more than social rented (2.6) — reflecting older stock with more untapped improvement potential.
Wall insulation is disproportionately needed in private rented homes (12.7% of recommendations vs 4.8% in social rented), suggesting older, poorly insulated rental stock.
Social rented properties have the highest share of floor insulation recommendations (18%) and the lowest need for boiler replacements (0.9% vs 2.8% owner-occupied).
EPC-estimated costs for each improvement type. The shaded bar shows the interquartile range (middle 50%), with whiskers extending to minimum and maximum observed costs.
